Day 1 Arrival to Cairo Welcome to Cairo, 'The Land of the Pharaohs'. Upon arrival after the clearing of customs and immigrations at the Cairo Airport, you will be met by our local representative and transferred to the hotel. Check in at the hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight at your hotel.
Day 2 Cairo Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Today you will be picked from your hotel lobby for a morning Tour of the Pyramids and Sphinx. The Great Pyramids of Giza, dating back to 2500 BC are some of the most famous man made structures in the world. Great Sphinx of Giza During your time at The Great Pyramids of Giza, there is no escaping the mysterious Sphinx, a symbol that has come to represent the essence of Egypt for thousands of years. With the body of a lion and the head of a king, there is as much mystery surrounding who built it as there is determining why it was built. Next, visit the Papyrus Museum. See the processes and efforts it took to make this ancient form of paper. Also, enjoy the beautiful illustrative Egyptian art and stories painted depicting Egyptian lifestyle and culture. Later, see the Perfume Factory where a demonstration in the art of perfume making awaits you. Later on proceed to the Jewelery Shop, where you can glance through exquisite ornaments and shop to your heart's content. Overnight at your hotel.
Day 3 Cairo - Aswan Enjoy breakfast on board. After breakfast transfer to the airport to board a flight to Aswan. Arrive Aswan and transfer to the Nile Cruise. Embarkation. Today enjoy a visit the Aswan High Dam built in 1971 and the charming Philae Island. For centuries until well into the 6th century C.E., people came from all over Egypt, the Mediterranean, Nubia and far beyond to worship the goddess Isis in the temple dedicated to her. We sail on to Kom Ombo. Dinner & Overnight on Board - Cruise.
Day 4 Kom Ombo & Edfu Enjoy breakfast on board. Today we visit the temple dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek, god of fertility and creator of the world and to the falcon god Haroeris, also known as Horus the Elder. As Kom Ombo, Edfu was a flourishing town in ancient times. The Horus Temple in Edfu dates also back to Ptolemaic times. We continue northwards to Luxor. Dinner & Overnight on Board - Cruise.
Day 5 Luxor Enjoy breakfast on board. Luxor, also known as Egypt's open air museum, we visit the Valley of the Kings and the Temple of Hatshepsut, one of Egypt's rare female Pharaohs, who ruled for about 20 years. Her temple is remarkable for its size and dramatic location. We pass by the massive sandstone statues which once flanked the entrance to Amenhotep III's mortuary temple. Dinner & Overnight on Board - Cruise.
Day 6 Luxor - Cairo Enjoy breakfast on board. Disembarkation after breakfast. After the disembarkation you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Cairo. Arrive Cairo and transfer to the hotel. Later in the afternoon enjoy a visit to the Egyptian Museum and the famous Khan El Khalili Bazaar. A visit to the Egyptian Museum at Tahrir Square is an absolute must on any visit to Cairo. It was built during the reign of Khedive Abbass Helmi II in 1897, and opened in 1902. With 107 halls you can explore the history of Pharaonic Egypt through the 120,000 artifacts exhibited, from Narmer to Akhnaton and Ramses. On the upper floor is the famous collection of King Tutankhamon treasures. The pharaoh is indeed gone, but his treasures and life still fascinate us today. After visiting the Egyptian museum, proceed to the Khan El Khalili Bazaar. The Khan El-Khalili Bazaar is place where art and commerce come together to give a unique and remarkable, harmonious experience. Overnight at your hotel.
Day 7 Departure from Cairo Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Today our local representative will meet you for your transfer to the airport for your flight to Cairo and back home.
